Review: Rise Of Day - Just in Time: Story About a Man Who Went to Death

E realmente, já era hora de um disco tão bom como esse surgir e agradar aos ouvidos! Esta dupla húngara, Rise of Day, faz algo que se rotula como “Post Rock”, mas para ser bem sincero com o leitor, o vosso amado Pai Marcão aqui achou melhor rotular a banda como “irrotulável”, já que o experimentalismo minimalista da banda é tão grande, vasto e agradável que foge às definições. Ainda bem, pois rótulos já deram no meu velho saco enrugado há tempos! Eles fazem algo instrumental, sem vocais, mas está muito longe de ser enjoativo ou um disco orientado para algum instrumento em especial (já que todos possuem seu destaque nos momentos certos), mantendo uma aura calma e experimental constante. Ou seja, a dupla formada por Ákos Szilágyi (guitarras, baixo, piano, efeitos eletrônicos) e József Murvai (bateria) se distancia do convencional e acaba agradando. Bom nível de produção, deixando todos os instrumentos bem cristalinos (inclusive os momentos onde o baixo aparece bem gorduroso), com destaques para as faixas ‘Fly Into the Sky’, ‘The Tree of Life’ (reparem bem no trabalho do baixo e guitarras sob uma colcha bem feita de teclados), a longa ‘Touch of Darkness’ (mais de 10 minutos de duração, com grandes mudanças de andamentos e excelente técnica de bateria e teclados), a intimista ‘Good Bye, Good Luck, I’m Gone’, e ‘This is Not The End’ (belíssimos teclados, e mesmo algumas guitarras com slides). E eles conseguem superar alguns nomes bem estabelecidos nesse gênero. Excelente, só isso. Nota: 9,0

It’s about time for a good record like this to arise and please our ears! Rise of Day, formed by two hungarian guys, deliver as they call a "Post Rock", but to be honest with the reader, I thought it best to label the band as “unlabeled", since the minimal experimentalism of the band is so big, vast and pleasant fleeing of definitions. Thankfully, cause labels already given me such a headache for some time! They do something instrumental, no vocals, but is far from being cloying or just oriented for any instrument in particular (since all have their prominence in some instances) while maintaining a calm aura and experimental constant. In other words, the dual formed by Ákos Szilágyi (guitar, bass, piano, electronic effects) and József Murvai (drums) get away from the conventional and ends up pleasing. Good level of production, making all instruments sound crystalline (including the moments where the bass sounds very ‘greasy’), with emphasis on the tracks 'Fly Into the Sky', 'The Tree of Life' (notice the fine work of the bass and guitars and keyboards as well) , the long ' Touch of Darkness' (over 10 minutes long with many changes in tempos and excellent drums and keyboards technique), the intimate 'Good Bye, Good Luck, I'm Gone', and 'This Is Not The End' (beautiful keyboards, guitars and even some with slides). And they manage to overcome some well established names in the genre. Excellent! 9/10
